RAW Cones and Straws: What’s Actually in the Pack?
Cones and straws might not sound like much of a mystery, but this small detail has sparked debate for years. Do RAW cones come with paper sticks, hollow paper straws or plastic straws?
The frustrating answer is: it depends.
The type of straw can vary by product, package and production run, which helps explain why customers sometimes open similar-looking RAW products and find something different inside.
Rather than rely on packaging photos or old forum posts, we opened several packs ourselves. We found all three: paper sticks, hollow paper straws and, in the RAW Lyrical Lemonade pack, a plastic straw.
What We Found Inside
Most of the newer retail packs we opened, including 3-packs, 6-packs and 20-count packs, contained hollow paper straws.
The larger bulk cases were different. The 900-count and 1,400-count bulk cone boxes we checked contained paper sticks rather than hollow straws.
Even within the 500-count bulk cone boxes, the results were mixed. The RAW Ethereal 500-count cones came with hollow paper straws, while the RAW 70/30 500-count cones came with paper sticks.
That makes it difficult to give one universal answer. The straw or stick inside may depend on the specific cone, the package size, the production run or the factory where it was manufactured.
Does a Different Straw Mean the Product Is Fake?
Not necessarily.
Finding a paper stick when you expected a hollow straw, or the other way around, does not automatically mean you received a counterfeit product. RAW packaging and production details can change, and different batches of the same product may not always be identical.
